Zebra Moray Eel (Gymnomuraena zebra)
Known for its striking black-and-white bands, the Zebra Moray is one of the most peaceful eels in the aquarium trade—ideal for large FOWLR (fish-only with live rock) setups.
 
Size: Up to 5 feet (1.5 m), though usually smaller in captivity
Tank Size: Minimum 125 gallons
Care Level: Advanced
Diet: Carnivore – crustaceans, squid, shrimp, frozen shellfish
Aggression Level: Peaceful (for an eel)
Compatibility: Best with medium to large, non-aggressive fish
Notes: Needs a tight-fitting lid and rockwork for hiding; mostly nocturnal; not reef-safe with inverts
