Tire Track Eel (Mastacembelus armatus)
Named for the intricate, dark maze-like pattern along its body, the Tire Track Eel is a secretive and powerful freshwater spiny eel species. While not a true eel, it exhibits similar behavior—burrowing, hiding, and emerging to feed, often at night. It's intelligent and can form bonds with keepers over time.

Diet: Carnivore – frozen or live bloodworms, shrimp, earthworms, and sinking meaty foods

Notes: Needs soft, sandy substrate and tight-fitting lids (excellent escape artist); prefers dim lighting and plenty of hiding spaces like driftwood and caves.
