The Powder Brown Tang is a refined and striking surgeonfish, easily identified by its rich brown body, contrasting white facial markings, and bright yellow dorsal fin edged in blue. Native to the Western Pacific, it inhabits reef slopes and lagoons, where it spends much of its time actively grazing on algae. As a dedicated herbivore, it contributes to reef health by controlling algal growth, helping to preserve coral habitats. Known for its sensitivity to water conditions and occasional territorial behavior, it thrives best in stable, spacious marine environments.
