Blue Spotted Puffer (Arothron hispidus)
The Blue Spotted Puffer is a stunning and captivating species, known for its vibrant blue spots scattered across its light brown or tan body. Native to the Indo-Pacific region, this pufferfish inhabits coral reefs and sandy flats, where it uses its powerful beak-like teeth to feed on hard-shelled invertebrates, such as snails, crustaceans, and mollusks. With a calm and curious personality, it can make a fascinating aquarium inhabitant. However, the Blue Spotted Puffer requires a large tank with plenty of hiding spaces and ample live food to maintain its health. Additionally, it has a tendency to be toxic if stressed or injured, so caution is advised.
