Baby Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus)
Baby Oscars are active, intelligent cichlids with lots of personality. While small as juveniles, they grow rapidly and require spacious tanks with strong filtration.
Size: Up to 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) as juveniles; adults reach 12–14 inches (30–36 cm)
Tank Size: Minimum 55 gallons (upgrade as they grow)
Care Level: Moderate
Diet: Carnivore – pellets, frozen/live food, occasional veggies
Aggression Level: Semi-aggressive
Compatibility: Best with other large, robust fish
Notes: Fast growers; produce a lot of waste – overfilter and plan for tank upgrades
