Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)
Angelfish come in a variety of colors and fin types. These graceful cichlids do well in tall, planted aquariums and can be kept in peaceful communities with care.
Size: Up to 6 inches (15 cm) body; taller with fins
Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons (tall tank preferred)
Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Diet: Omnivore – flakes, pellets, frozen/live food
Aggression Level: Semi-aggressive (territorial, especially when breeding)
Compatibility: Best with peaceful to semi-aggressive mid- to top-dwellers
Notes: Avoid fin-nippers and very small fish like neon tetras
